All About Mineral Makeup
Mineral Face Makeup:
An Alternative To Liquid Makeups
Mineral makeup is makeup that is normally
in powder form and made from natural minerals such as those found in the earth. That may sound
strange and non appealing but you should not judge it until you try it for yourself. Mineral face
makeup is far better for your complexion than oil based liquid makeup. Face
Minerals also make your skin feel lighter than if you were wearing other traditional
makeup.
When I first tried mineral face makeup, I
didn't like it at all because I wasn't used to putting on such small amounts of foundation. My face ended up
looking off color and rather clownish. I swore I would never use the stuff ever again, and then I saw a special for
it on a shopping channel and they demonstrated how to properly apply it. I decided to give it another
try.
The first step in applying mineral face
makeup is to first apply a good mineral makeup moisturizer: this softens your skin and
makes the foundation go on smoothly. Then I would highly recommend purchasing a set of quality mineral
makeup brushes. Oftentimes when you buy a starter set of mineral makeup, it will come with a set of makeup
brushes. Don't use cheap ones!
Using only high quality mineral makeup
brushes will give you better results than most regular makeup brushes. The good quality mineral makeup brushes
differ from regular makeup brushes because they have a flatter base. You'll find that the shape of the brush will
have a lot to do with how well the powder goes on your face. The better quality brush does not simply absorb it as
the cheaper brushes do. The better brush smooths the makeup onto the face.
First you should apply the mineral makeup
moisturizer. After you use themineral makeup moisturizer then you should take the makeup brush and put a
small amount of the foundation powder on it. Tap the brush on the bottle to get rid of the excess loose powder.
Apply to the face and look at the results! It does take some getting used to because mineral
makeups are not as heavy as liquid ones. Be careful not to overdo it since at first you will not realize
that you are wearing makeup.
Mineral makeups are beginning to become
more mainstream, mostly because popular shopping networks regularly have hours and hours of infomercials devoted to
nothing but it. One should always be sure to pick the higher end brand because the cheaper makeup never goes on as
well as the nicer makeup. The nicer brands aren't always expensive, and once you use it you will see why you should
choose the higher end makeup. I will never go back to using liquids after trying mineral
makeup.
Minerals: Your Skin’s Best Friend
These days, women are more into taking better care of their
skin. Expensive washes, lotions, and sunblock don’t always contribute to a healthier complexion. However,
changing that daily makeup routine will make those small differences that you’ll notice.
Mineral makeup has been around for a while now, and not many of
us are aware of the benefits of using natural minerals on our skin. Mineral makeup is made up of naturally
occurring pigments from the earth, it’s non-comedegenic, and doesn’t irritate the skin, making it a great
alternative for sensitive and mature skin types.
All of those cosmetics we’ve grown up on are chemical laden, and
quite frankly, unhealthy. Research has shown that chemicals in makeup are not only bad for your skin, but can
also be life threatening with continued exposure.
Minerals already benefit your body in many ways—why not your
skin, too?
